Scott Ferry
Lead Instructional Designer
Pronouns: He | Him | His

“I am a white man, a learner, an educator, a Midwesterner, and a Southerner. I’m a brother and a son. I am an aspiring accomplice in racial and social justice who strives to leverage my privilege in the service of those things. I commit to #LiveInclusively by listening instead of talking, learning as much as teaching, leading with intention, and making space for all.”

Scott Ferry is the Lead Instructional Designer at The Winters Group. He creates customized learning experiences focused on driving learners toward actions that advance diversity, inclusion, and equity. He also uses collaborative processes to coach peers in embedding andragogical best practices to create highly effective learner-centered approaches to DEIJ education. Scott is passionate about and dedicated to turning equity into action, closing opportunity gaps, and dismantling systems of oppression.

Scott has previously worked in education, first serving two years with AmeriCorps in the Detroit Metro area, then as a middle school teacher with the District of Columbia Public Schools, as a test developer with the American Institutes for Research, and as an instructional coach with City Year DC. He then joined the Baltimore-based nonprofit Thread as a Community Manager and Manager of Curriculum Development. He has extensive experience designing, implementing, and facilitating curricula with education and social justice foci.

Scott is a contributing author in Racial Justice at Work: Practical Solutions for Systemic Change (February, 2023) with chapters Employees Can’t Be Safe until They Feel Safe and Allyship Is for All.

Scott is an alum of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s degree in English and holds a Masters in Teaching, with a concentration in 6-12 English education, from Piedmont College.
