“I am a black woman that is young and confident. I am a child of God, youngest daughter, baby sister, and auntie that has a passion for bridging communication gaps across all audiences. I #LiveInclusively by being an advocate that both supports and shares the unique needs of diverse and underrepresented communities. I believe that to #LiveInclusively is to not only be aware of the past and the present but also ready for the opportunities in the future.”

Katelyn Peterson is the Public Relations & Event Coordinator at the Winters Group, Inc. In her role, she broadens the media reach of The Winters Group and its employees through the use of strategic PR and oversight of public events. Katelyn’s congenial nature assists with her ability to work and communicate effectively with all audiences. She plans to change the entertainment stigma of new media and highlight the professional advantages of the new idea of a 24-hour news cycle.

Katelyn has a professional background working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Her work has involved assistance with personal, social, and career goal setting and coaching. This was not just a job for Katelyn, but instead an opportunity to create a pathway for her new close friends to have and enjoy equal rights and opportunities. This work has led to her volunteer path with Special Olympics where she has participated as a developmental support for basketball and flag football, but looks forward to participating in even more sporting events. She was the Head of PR, Event Coordinator, and Hosting Coach for a media platform called The Lunch Table Blog Show. She continues her work with the platform as an alumni mentor.

Katelyn is a Towson University graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and Public Relations.
