Karen Anaya is the Project and Resource Analyst for The Winters Group. As part of the Client Success team, she is mainly responsible for managing our client and project systems as well as implementing resource management processes. As a natural problem solver, she is interested in analyzing the way things are and developing efficient, sustainable, and innovative ways to reach our goals and provide exceptional customer service.

Karen has extensive program management experience. Prior to joining The Winters Group, she worked in the South Pacific leading local and national community-focused projects in emergency preparedness, response and recovery as well as on education, health, equity and environmental protection. Project outcomes include the opening of new schools and libraries in rural areas, increased water security, the enforcement of local environmental regulations, and a decrease in primary school girl dropout rates and child obesity. She has worked in partnership with local, national and international NGOs, foreign government ministries, and the private sector to provide sustainable opportunities and ensure that human rights are upheld in isolated communities around the world. She has assisted in the production of multinational regional environmental reports as lead researcher, writer and photographer to amplify the voices of communities living under the adverse effects of the climate emergency.

Karen has a Bachelor’s Degree from Hamline University with a double major in Communication Studies and Criminal Justice and a double minor in Conflict Studies and Spanish.
