CHARLOTTE, N.C. (October 2, 2024) — Global consulting firm The Winters Group, Inc., celebrates 40 years at the forefront of workplace culture with the release of its original thought paper, “3 Key Insights to Enhance Organizational Performance With DEI: A Meta-Analysis.” The research and in-depth analysis of data from 20 organizations over three years found a strong correlation between company commitment to inclusive behaviors and employee satisfaction.

One key finding from the meta-analysis includes the fact that for every 1% increase in employee perceptions of equity and justice, employee job satisfaction went up by almost 30%. Other factors that increased job satisfaction included policies being fairly administered across the organization; leaders and managers having open conversations about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI); and employees being exposed to fewer racial microaggressions.

“The research is clear: Organizations that prioritize inclusive behaviors and culture change experience significant benefits that create a strategic advantage in a rapidly changing business landscape,” says Mary-Frances Winters, Founder and CEO of The Winters Group. Adds Mareisha N. Winters Reese, President and Chief Operating Officer of The Winters Group: “These findings not only point to the incredible impact of DEI work, but they underscore the importance of investing in learning and development to raise leader self-awareness and support cross-cultural competency.”

Without this critical awareness, decision-making may be negatively impacted because the input of those from historically marginalized groups may not be sought out as a result. This impact was seen across industries including health care, nonprofits, entertainment, business, technology, and higher education.

Information on all three key insights with examples of how to apply them are available in the full report. Implementing these steps will help organizations increase job satisfaction, resulting in better individual productivity and engagement; improve decision-making by incorporating inclusive values; and raise leadership self-awareness for systemic and sustainable change management.
