D&I Instructional Designer

Remote – Fulltime Position

The Winters Group’s D&I Instructional Designer is part of the Learning & Innovation Team (LIT). LIT is responsible for the design and delivery of our client learning experiences, including, but not limited to, in-person sessions, Virtual Learning Labs, keynotes, whitepapers and reports. The D&I Instructional Designer must have experience with curriculum design and a strong command of diversity, equity, and inclusion concepts and theories. This position will have a specific emphasis on learning offerings that leverage technology mediums (e.g. e-Learnings, Virtual Learning Labs [webinars]). Preference will be given to applicants based in DC, MD, VA, and PA.

The D&I Instructional Designer is primarily responsible for:

  • Developing and facilitating content for in-person and virtual learning experiences
  • Designing and developing e-Learning content using platforms like Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate
  • Plan, manage, coordinate and execute all Virtual Learning Labs using Adobe Connect
  • Interacting with clients to better understand and assess their learning needs, while also engaging them in the co-design process
  • Managing the client lifecycle process using Zoho Project Management tool
  • Developing learning materials and aids (e.g. workbooks, handouts)
  • Supporting the development of self-guided, on-demand (e-Learning) experiences
  • Contributing to The Inclusion Solution weekly blog
  • Authoring whitepapers, reports and other resources used to position The Winters Group as a thought-leader in diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Staying abreast of current trends and topics in the areas of equity, social justice, diversity, and inclusion

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or specific coursework related to diversity, inclusion, sociology, intergroup relations, or similar field
  • At least 3 years of experience facilitating and/or designing learning content
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a corporate diversity management and/or equity, social justice focused role
  • Ability to work in a virtual work environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent multitasking skills
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in the following: Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word, virtual learning platforms (Adobe Connect preferred), e-Learning design platforms like Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate

This role is 100% virtual, with some travel required.
