Tina Cannaday Chapman
Tina Cannaday Chapman is a multitalented individual. She has worked as a diversity management consultant in the Rochester, NY area and the US Virgin Islands. She has a gift of combining music and dance with her unique style of training and facilitation.
Ms. Chapman has worked as a diversity consultant with The Winters Group for Eastman Kodak Company, Phillips Petroleum, Rochester Rehabilitation Center, The University of Rochester, and the US Virgin Islands Housing Authority. She has done extensive training and consulting in people-based leadership, coaching, corporate culture change, and diversity management. Ms. Chapman has also conducted research studies in employee retention and culture audits.
Ms. Chapman has worked as a trainer since 1984 where she started teaching computer courses to evening students at the University of Akron and has taught as an adjunct instructor at Monroe Community College. Her patience, in-depth knowledge, and enjoyment of helping people reach their full potential has been witnessed through letters and positive feedback from her students and clients.
Ms. Chapman has also worked for IBM in sales, marketing, and consulting. Her special interest areas are bringing people and technology together in ways that maximize human productivity and the use of information.
While working for IBM Ms. Chapman conducted research studies for various school districts. She facilitated workshops with school superintendents, administrators, teachers, and community representatives by helping them to build high functioning teams and design district wide plans for technology. She has also taught computer classes on networking and computer applications to over 50 companies.
At IBM Ms. Chapman also managed the U.S. and Canadian sales territories and developed direct marketing campaigns utilizing various communication techniques. Her most successful projects were the development and execution of a computer sales catalog with a subscription list of 127,000 subscribers driving $52,000,000 in revenue, and creating marketing campaigns for the North American sales teams in e-commerce, database decision support, LAN consolidation, Y2K, high availability, and systems management.
Ms. Chapman was awarded IBM's highest sales award, the Golden Circle, for her outstanding sales and leadership and numerous Marketing Excellence awards. Her other awards include being named Inroads Business Advisor of the Year for her role as a mentor to Inroads interns, Mathematics Honor Student, Ronald E. McNair Doctorate Program recipient, and the IBM Difference Maker Award.
The Cleveland, Ohio native is a graduate of the State University of New York at Brockport with a BA degree in Mathematics and Minor in Computer Science. Ms. Chapman maintained a 4.0 GPA while accomplishing these degrees. She studies dance and enjoys reading, acting, and spending time with her three children Cannaday, Aaron, and Ana.
